Sports equipment on Amazon: 5.72x ROAS in one week

The challenge

A sports equipment catalogue with very different products (footballs, basketballs, medicine balls, throw balls, cricket bats) was competing for one budget. A single catch-all campaign would hide which products were actually profitable.

What I did

  1. 1

One ad group per product line

Six manual-targeting ad groups, so every product line had its own targets, bids and results.

  2. 2

    Controlled bids and budget

A ₹3 default bid with a ₹2,000 daily cap kept cost per click low while data built up (₹4.02 average CPC).

  3. 3

    Cut what didn’t convert

Ad groups with spend but no sales, such as basketball and bowling ball, were paused early.

  4. 4

    Moved budget to winners

Spend shifted towards ad groups that were converting, led by football.

Amazon Ads Sponsored Products campaign: 5.72 ROAS on ₹1,877.89 spend

Amazon Ads console: Sponsored Products manual campaign, 23–29 Oct 2026. ₹1,877.89 spend, ₹10,732.80 sales, 5.72 ROAS.

Key learning

Niche products with less competition (medicine ball, throw ball) returned almost 3x the ROAS of the hero product. The next step is to give them more budget and build exact-match campaigns around their best search terms.
